The Story of the Victor Hugo in Guernsey Festival 2016.

The Organising Committee of the Festival was recently nominated for the “Organising Committee of the Year” Community Award but failed to be short listed.

We thought the submitted text might serve as a suitable record of the event.



The aim of the society is to promote the study and celebration of the life and works of Victor Hugo and his family during their years of exile in Guernsey.

The Society will organise talks, walks and other events consistent with its objectives.

Membership of the Society costs £10 per person per annum. Please make cheques payable to “The Victor Hugo in Guernsey Society’ and send to the Treasurer, Roy Bisson, Le Caprice, Cobo Coast Road, Castel, Guernsey, GY5 7HE, United Kingdom. Payments made in 2015 will include 2016.
